It also helps to have a little luxury! Baths looking out into the forest. Nature. Marshmallows huddled by the fire.
This is such an amazing place, just what's needed.

We came to Anne's Retreat for our 18th wedding anniversary and its been wonderful.
We only ventured into Chepstow as it was too lovely to leave, other than to wander around the forest on the edge of the hut. It was even sunny enough to read in the hammock.
Garry loved the fire pit and we both loved sitting in the bath with the birdsong
Its idyllic and we're really sad to leave

From Euan's very warm welcome to the exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship Anne's Retreat.
What a luxurious well equipped and peaceful hideaway.
We enjoyed every moment of our short stay, cooking in the hut, using the quaint wood burner and sitting around the firepit listening to the owls and breathing in the fresh air

Stay number two!!
As usual everything was perfect in Anne's Retreat. We have enjoyed another truly relaxed stay and feel very refreshed.
We've absolutely loved our last two stays here and have fond memories with my partner proposing our our first stay and our second stay being our last break before we welcome our baby girl in February. Thank you Euan and Laura for sharing your piece of the world with us.

Retreat is the perfect name for this wonderful hut? We felt truly relaxed and disconnected from the world.
Euan, Laura and Betty are such warm hosts that even the boiler breakdown didn't dampen our spirits!
We've absolutely loved exploring the local area and taking in the stunning Autumn landscape.
We are already planning our return.

We came to Anne's Retreat with high hopes and they were completely exceeded in every way
The two huts are so beautifully designed and considered, they put many a luxury hotel to shame.
It's incredibly difficult to find genuine peace and tranquility in todays world, but we honestly felt on our own idilic planet.
The perfect spot to explore the surrounding area from, but equally we'd be happy never leaving this place.

There are few places we find in life , that are peaceful enough and safe enough for us to really relax to the point where we can think the thoughts, feel the feelings and open the boxes in side we carefully keep packed away for our own sake.
This place is that place. We have spent our precious time doing all these things and by so doing , coming back to our centre, just being and finding kindness in ourselves, where too often, there is judgement and fear.
Everyone should be able to do this things , that make the same....human.
Thank you for giving us the space and opportunity to stop and do this, gathering ourselves together breathing deeply and finding what we need to go back and face the world for another round.

What a fantastic way to spend my Birthday. Really at one with nature, with beautiful walks nearby.
The modern amenities are all very well thought out finishing touches.
We cooked steak on the fire pit followed by marshmallows, we were even given a delicious bottle of wine!
It was amazing to see deer in the field every night too. The walks around us were stunning
I will without doubt recommend to everyone I know. I'd love to live here!

Euan made us feel so welcome when we first arrived and had set the area up beautiful, it was like walking into a fairy tale.
Both my husband and I agree that this was the best holiday we have been on. We got the peace and quiet of the countryside with only the owls and robins as neighbours but also the luxury of hot running water, amazing showers, magical bathtub, inside kitchen and an amazing bed. They have really thought of all your needs, comforts and experiences whilst staying with them. The hammock and outside chairs where a dream to have lazy days on with the firepit all prepped for cooking. We felt like we were in our own little world and would have stayed forever. Also the fact that Euan built these huts himself and all the added features to make this stay truly amazing and memorable.
Thank you so much for everything, even the fairy who topped up the logs for the fire pit! We will be seeing you again. If there was an option for more Stars you would have given them.

This has been the most relaxing, chilled holiday have ever had!
For us the best thing was spending the afternoons / evenings in front of the fire pit, listening to all the weird and wonderful sound and being mesmerised by the dancing flames.
Sometimes spending hours not saying a wor, both of our minds just wandering, thinking about nothing much at all.
When we could tear ourselves away the walks through eh woods and countryside were so amazing with some beautiful views.
