Each of our couples’ retreats has its own woodburner, so you can enjoy that unmistakable glow and warmth whether you choose the cottage or the shepherd’s hut.

Orchard Cottage

In Orchard Cottage, the wood-burner is the heart of the sitting room. Comfy sofas, books and fresh flowers are all arranged around it, so you can stretch out by the fire with a glass of wine after a walk, or curl up with a book while your dog snoozes at your feet. We provide plenty of logs, so you can keep it going as long as you like.

Anne’s Retreat

At Anne’s Retreat, the woodburner turns the shepherd’s hut into a snug, romantic hideaway. Light it in the evening and watch the meadow and woods outside fade into darkness while you stay warm and cocooned inside. It’s the perfect complement to the super king bed and the luxury bathing hut next door.

That first moment when you step through the door matters. That’s why whenever we can, we’ll have the woodburner lit for your arrival so you’re greeted by a real fire and a gentle, welcoming warmth. If timing or weather means it isn’t already burning, it will be laid and ready to light with kindling and logs to hand, so all you need to do is strike a match.
